Every week this year I'm sharing content on a different theme or topic related to health and wellness for busy professionals. Last week we talked about goal setting and getting because what better topic for the first week of the New Year when we all have a fresh start and a brand new 12 months to make positive change!
This week's topic is meal planning and prepping ingredients in advance. It's a personal intention and goal of mine to implement this in my own life this year. (I see the benefits as the cook in our house!) And this can be a key habit for people trying to lose weight or improve their health.
I started by doing some Googling and after a few minutes found this post by Vanessa Perrone over at Motive Nutrition. Vanessa is "a Montreal Registered Dietitian Nutritionist" according to her website. And I really enjoyed her article, video, and especially her downloadable cheatsheet/checklist for weekly vegetable prep.
There's no reason you can't expand this practice to prep of other types of ingredients, not just vegetables, and entire meals. This week at some point I intend to prep some veggies in advance as a test run. Already did a little bit over the weekend with a huge bunch of kale I got at the farmers market. It was so nice going into the fridge the next day and having fresh, chopped up kale there just waiting for me.
Check out Vanessa's article and follow along this week as we explore meal planning and preparing ingredients and meals in advance.
