What are some small business types that I can run out of my home to primarily use to create tax write offs?
Today I'm answering this question for a member on Quora. Keep asking and I'll keep answering, Quorians!!!
Pretty much any personal service that’s based on knowledge work or a direct selling business can be run out of your home.
For example, creative and knowledge services like consulting, coaching, writing, sales copywriting, design, research, audio and video production, software development, and the manufacture of some physical products or art can all be run out of your home.
Direct selling businesses like network marketing or an eBay, Etsy, or upcycling business can also all be run out of your home.
A self-publishing business might also be of interest if you want to produce books, manuals, trainings, or websites for consumers or businesses.
In my experience, as long as you have a dedicated space in your home like a separate room or detached space reserved specifically for your business you can enjoy the tax benefits.
